October 2018 Meeting
The October meeting included a discussion by representatives of local running stores Heart and Sole and Sport Systems. They discussed several topics, including how they compete with internet merchants and selection of shoe brands to carry. They emphasized their customer service, including detailed discussions with customers as to which shoes are best for their particular needs.
A donation $2,000 to Scout Troop 17 was approved by the ARR Board in recognition of the Scouts' efforts in support of the La Luz Trail Run. Troop 17 was instrumental in the operation of the middle two aid stations of the race, including transport of umpteen loads of water up the trail, staffing the stations, and removing all trash.
