April 2017 Handicap

Edgewood, NM
Saturday, April 1st

8:30 am
~5 Miles
Hosted by Kathy Kirsling

Kathy will host her 9th Annual Berta Drive Handicap in beautiful, high elevation Edgewood, NM. Be prepared for a challenging course of about 5 miles, as usual! There will be hills, and probably more hills, and some roads and some trails. And it may be sunny in Albuquerque, but a whole different story in Edgewood, so bring layers of clothing. And bring along a dish to share for the potluck afterwards.

Directions from Central Ave & Tramway NE:
Smith's Grocery Store is a great place for a carpooling meet-up. It is about 30 minutes from there to Kathy's house.
  • Go East on I-40 to Sedillo Rd - Exit #181
  • At stop sign turn LEFT/East. You are now on old Route 66.
  • Or instead of the freeway take Old Route 66 aka Hwy 333.
  • Go 1.5 miles and turn LEFT/North onto Mountain Valley Rd.
  • Go 1.8 miles. You will see a "dormitory-style" house on the right.
  • Turn RIGHT onto Berta Drive.
  • #17 is the third house on the left, just past Mercer Lane. Park along the shoulder on that side of the road.
  • PLEASE, all park on the North side of the road so that Kathy's  neighbors can still drive down the road.
