FOREVER YOUNG RACES honor the memory of our member Charlie Young, an avid runner, cyclist and outdoorsman, who was killed in a bicycle accident in Colorado in August 2004.
FOREVER YOUNG RACES honor the memory of our member Charlie Young, an avid runner, cyclist and outdoorsman, who was killed in a bicycle accident in Colorado in August 2004.
Charlie lived in Placitas, so the race is held on a dirt loop course in Placitas with rolling hills in a beautiful pinon/ juniper area. Choose the 6 mile or the 3 mile race.

6 Mile + 3 Mile Races
The 6 mile route is a full loop of the Forest Loop Road in Placitas, NM. It's a challenging course on a wide dirt road. The 3 mile event follows the 6-mile course for the first 1.5 miles, then turns around to head back to the start/finish area. See below for directions and maps.

Awards are presented to the overall first male and female finishers in both races and to the top three finishers in each age group for each event.

DIRECTIONS
From Albuquerque, take I-25 north to Exit 242. Go east on Hwy 165 toward the village of Placitas for 2.8 miles. The race area is on the south side of the highway at a small trailhead/parking area. This parking area is the location of the start and finish, packet pickup, and race day registration. Parking (diagonal) is along the shoulders of the highway.
