The Forever Young Race is a celebration in memory of our member Charlie Young, an avid runner, cyclist and outdoorsman who was killed in a bike accident in Colorado in August 2004. Since Charlie always ran without a shirt even in the dead of winter, participants are encouraged to run shirtless (not topless) in his memory.
Charlie lived in Placitas, so the race is held on a dirt loop course in Placitas with rolling hills in a beautiful pinon/juniper area.
Choose the 6 mile run, a challenging run around the full Forest Loop Road, or the 3 mile walk/run, out-and-back on rolling hills.
A portion of proceeds benefits area non-profit groups.
Race fee is $30 for each event.
On-line registration ends at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21st. Registration is non-refundable unless the race is cancelled.
Runners may also register at Heart & Sole Sports during pre-race packet pick up on Friday and Saturday (see below). Cash or check only.
Day of race registration is $35 (cash or check only).
Race Day registration and packet pickup are available from 7:30 until 8:30 a.m.
The first 200 to pick up their race packets will receive a Forever Young commemorative hoodie.
